How Our Project Was Born
When the fires ravaged our beautiful Los Angeles communities on January 7, 2025, many musicians started posting messages with offers to help those who lost everything in the fires. Ideas ranged from offering clothing, toiletries, and food, to a spare room to use until they could find shelter. We all wanted to help!
Several of us began discussing how to best help working musicians return to work as quickly as possible without incurring unnecessary costs. Out of that discussion, Free Concert Clothing Co-op was born! Colleen Coomber, Karen Garrity, Laurie Niles, Wendy Prober, Rena Urso, and Dynell Weber jumped in, pooling their strengths to create this FREE resource for our musical colleagues. The collective goal is to help our friends and colleagues rebuild their work wardrobes, enabling them to return to the stage in style and do what we love: making music.
This clothing co-op offers free pre-loved, gently used concert clothing, shoes and accessories. None of this would be possible without the amazing generosity of our musical community, both local and nationwide

The website went live on Monday, January 20, 2025.
We invite you to help us spread the word to those in need! If you know someone affected by the fires who needs concert clothing, please tell them about this FREE resource. To make the process as smooth as possible, interested musicians can browse the inventory on the website and then contact us to schedule an appointment to stop by Wendy's home to try items on in person. They are welcome to take as much as they need and feel free to return for more when needed.
